Who we are
MailingRoute is a shared direct-mail service operated by LinkedBits. We print one oversized postcard carrying a limited number of local businesses and mail it to every address on the USPS carrier routes our advertisers select. Billing is handled by our billing partner, VGJ LLC.
Questions about anything on this page, or a request to see or delete your data: contact us.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to sell you a spot and print your ad. From advertisers and enquiries: your name, business name, email address, phone number, service area ZIP codes, trade category, contractor licence number where your trade requires one on printed advertising, your website address, and any artwork or reference material you upload.
We do not collect information about the households who receive the postcard. EDDM mail is addressed to a carrier route, not to named individuals — we never receive, buy, or hold a resident mailing list.
Why we hold it
To quote and fulfil your order, to reserve your trade category, to produce and proof your ad, to send you transactional messages about your order, and to keep the financial records the law requires us to keep.
Text messages
If you tick the SMS box at signup, we send you transactional updates about your order — order received, route ready with a balance due, proof ready to approve, and card mailed. Message frequency varies with your order; expect a small number of messages per order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing anything from us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary with the companies that make the service work: our print and mail provider (Click2Mail, which receives your finished ad artwork and the carrier routes to mail), our billing partner (VGJ LLC, which issues your invoices), our email provider, and our SMS provider (SignalWire) where you have opted in.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or lead-generation companies. We do not use it to build profiles or to target you elsewhere.
Your business name, trade, phone number, and website appear on the printed postcard and on your public microsite page — that is the product you are buying, and it is public by design.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted, privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal information.
How long we keep it
Account and order records are kept while your account is open and afterwards for as long as we are required to retain financial records. Uploaded artwork is kept while it may still be printed, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can reprint or resolve a dispute. Ask us to delete your account and we will, except for records we are legally obliged to keep.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. Transactional email about an active order is part of the service; if you no longer want it, cancel the order or close the account.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to customer records is limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be sent to you by email.
